Applecross Peninsula is on the West Coast of Scotland, opposite the Isle of Skye and straight across on the map from Inverness on the East Coast. Applecross is very remote and is reached over the incredible Bealach na ba, one of the highest mountain passes in the UK, or via the Coast road from Shieldaig.
Please plan your trip carefully! It’s always a good idea to arrive in daylight so allow plenty of time from where you are travelling from. Remember to take into account our single-track roads – this can add a bit onto your journey.
*Important! Apart from a couple of pockets Applecross has no mobile phone coverage.
Once you arrive into Applecross (if driving over the Bealach) turn right and follow the coast road round for around one mile. Our house is the big white one on the right handside – positioned just after the turn off to Hartfield House Hostel.
