Applecross Peninsula is on the West Coast of Scotland, opposite the Isle of Skye and straight across on the map from Inverness on the East Coast. Applecross is very remote and is reached over the incredible Bealach na ba, one of the highest mountain passes in the UK, or via the Coast road from Shieldaig.
Please plan your trip carefully! It’s always a good idea to arrive in daylight so allow plenty of time from where you are travelling from. Remember to take into account our single-track roads – this can add a bit onto your journey.
*Important! Apart from a couple of pockets Applecross has no mobile phone coverage.
Once you arrive into Applecross (if driving over the Bealach) turn right and follow the coast road round for around one mile. Our house is the big white one on the right handside – positioned just after the turn off to Hartfield House Hostel.
Our address is: Clachan Manse, Applecross, IV54 8ND, please note that your Sat Nav may not take you exactly to the house as the postcode covers a large area.
If you need more precise directions, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help.

There are not a lot of accommodation options available in the charming village of Applecross. We stayed one night at Clachan Manse B&B and we were absolutely delighted. We stayed in the Thistle Room, very beautiful and lots of thoughtful touches including a beautiful bouquet of freshly cut flowers. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Many thanks to Debs who served breakfast. She very kindly helped me out with a phone call that was a problem. Great service in a lovely setting- CenterMtraveler , April 2020
Only spent one night in the Highland Coo room, and I so wished it were more! Absolute delight of a room, super comfy bed and gorgeous Scottish toiletries and a cosy heated bathroom floor! Tery is charming and helpful and the perfect host. She booked a table for me for dinner and provided a map for me to follow. Breakfast was delicious – really set me up for the day, I sincerely hope I can make a return visit – but for longer next time.- TravellingoneSwansea, 2020
